When you do the math that is 1,238,110.00 OVER BUDGET GENERAL FUND?

Here is Combined Utilities Fund Revenues Final Proposal 06/23/09

On page 36 of the printed budget shows l,238,110.00 of the Combined Utilities Revenue being TRANSFERRED to the General Fund making up for the 1,238,110.00 OVER BUDGET GENERAL FUND listed for that fund.

The total City Budget 2009/2010 is 14,401,457.00

Here is the bad part about all the budget numbers I have stated above. These are only projected Revenues and Expenses for each of the funds that make up the total city budget.
In order to make sense of it you have to see the Actual Revenues and Actual Expenses. So far they have not shared that information, so how does the public know what is going on? The simple answer is you don’t. That is why you, the voter/taxpayer needs to get involved in these meetings more. Let City Officials know that you are concerned about our community.

Until next time,

  1. This is off your topic but I have a question about who the PPD answers to when they are not doing their jobs. There has been a rash of robberies/burgleries in Paris lately along with the recent shooting. This so called gang called "The Cleveland Boys" are being blamed for the robberies and it is rumored the police know who they are. Is a city meeting the place to ask these questions?

  2. Your quetions are really not off my topic. Look at the top of my blogs description. It says, Give Paris City Officials Praise when they deserve it,But don't be afraid to speak out when you think they are wrong.

To answer your question, all city employees boss is City Manager Nagy. His boss is the elected city officals, mayor, and the 4 commissioners. And the city officials boss is all the voters/taxpayers of Paris.
Your tax dollars goes to the PPD for protecting our community.
The city commissioners meeting is a great place to express your concerns! See you at the next meeting, Tuesday 9a.m. 1/26/2010.
We need concerned citizens like you to get involved and speak out. Bring other neighbors and friends with you to the meeting. We can make a difference!!

  3. Dang it. I waited too late to come back to your blog and I missed that meeting! I will go to the Paris homepage and be sure to mark on my calendar when the next meeting is.
My problem is, however, I work in a very public job and am not sure I *should* question them about this at the city meetings. I'm between a rock and a hard place, sort of. It's hard to explain. But thank you for answering my question. I really appreciate it and I will visit your blog more often.

  4. You can only do what you feel is right. I myself think the meeting is a great place to make your comments but that is up to you.
Speak up and give them an opportunity to respond to you. If you think the meeting isn't the right place, then just give them a phone call.

  5. In today's times, especially through all the media options out there, it is way too easy and sadly shameless to peddle in halftruths, and then think one has their own particular version of the truth or one kind own of math to tell to all?

The truth will bear itself out. Who that is honest can stop this?

No one wants to tell the truth about this country. Looks like some of the same here is the case with Paris.

No fear, no apologies, no lies.

I honestly can't make sense of it or the point you are trying to make? If you would like to explain your point of your comments more clearly, then I will post that to.
agree or disagree I'll post it -no bad language please.
